Jim Fouchia has been with the Dittilies since 1998 and has enjoyed “getting back" into drumming. Jim took a decade off from his music career to focus on raising his two daughters and on his “other” career in Information Technology Program Management.  Prior to his hiatus, Jim played with several area bands and has backed performers such as The Drifters and Anita Baker.

“Drumming has been a huge part of my life since age 5, when I got my first toy set.  I played all throughout grade school, high school, and college in marching, concert, and jazz bands.  Oh and let’s not forget Rock-n-Roll bands!”

Jim continues to be a music enthusiast, enjoying everything from Jazz to Choral music and has sung in church choirs since the second grade. His early inspirations were drummers like Danny Seraphine (Chicago), Bobby Colomby (Blood, Sweat, and Tears) and David Garibaldi (Tower of Power).

“Today’s drummers are so exciting and have taken drumming to a whole different level.  I love the journeyman drummers that you can find on so many albums and in live shows, such as, Dennis Chambers, Kenny Aranoff, Steve Smith, Chris Frazier, Steve Gadd, Bernie Dressel, etc..  The list goes on and on.  I try to work tricks from these guys into the Dittilie repertoire.  Sometimes more successfully than others!”

Come see Jim work these styles into the many classics in the Dittilie play list.  When not playing drums, Jim also enjoys golf and watching his beloved Detroit Tigers, Pistons, and Red Wings.

(Jim is also a closet Lions fan)
